In the context of the course "Research-oriented online seminar with case study - political processes of bioeconomy policy" in the summer semester 2020, students at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg dealt with the topics of bioeconomy and sustainability from a political science perspective. Following the concept of the project Bio-Ökopoli, the students conducted their own case studies on the field of bioeconomy policy and analyzed the sub-fields of bio-plastics policy, biofuels policy and bioenergy policy. For the analysis in the case studies, they used the political process inherent dynamics approach (PIDA). In this contribution, a student from Vietnam reports on her experiences in the seminar. She summarizes the results of the three case studies with a focus on biofuels policy and reflects her perspective on the understanding of (sustainable) bioeconomy in Vietnam and Germany.
